We're alive, and on the move again!

So it's safe to say that we lost our blogging momentum as soon as we got to Portland. We were so excited, in fact, about getting to Portland, that we just skipped the whole "seeing the Pacific Ocean" part of the trip. Since then, we've had a great time getting to know the town, getting used to rejection from potential employers, and planning for our next road trip.

My sister Christy is getting married in North Carolina on October 2nd, so we decided to make a round trip drive (in a car!) to the wedding and then back home to Portland with all of the stuff (bikes) we left in Virginia. Long story short: we bought a very charming '78 Volvo 242, slapped a roof rack on, and named her Casey:









We're hitting the road tomorrow, hoping to do 2900 miles to Newport News in four days! After the wedding, the plan is to meander our way back home to Portland, visiting friends and some places we weren't able to see on the bike trip.
