Well, we rolled into East Lansing alright... in a truck! Some fairly serious comfort issues caught up with us, and we gave into the temptation to get a ride into town instead of suffering through the last day. Yeah, we know we suck, but we still rode 530 miles in 9 days, and we don't have any regrets. We're fixing bike fitment issues and figuring out what's wrong with Erica's skin (sun allergy?) while we're here in Michigan, so the ride home in a couple weeks will hopefully be more comfortable.
We'll be goofing around here in East Lansing for a few days, then riding 100 miles to Spring Lake on friday, just in time for the wedding on Saturday. Haven't decided what we're doing from there. Options include going up the Lake Michigan coast, maybe going to the Upper Peninsula, or who knows what else, Canada? And then... we have to decide how to get home. We're not too keen on going back through the boring parts of Ohio (did we mention that most of Ohio is incredibly boring), so we've got some decisions to make.
But we're not worried. We're happy to be here, happy to be relaxing and healing, and looking forward to getting back on the road soon.

ReplyDeleteJust an FYI...Ray, Callie and Ray Jr. live in Michigan again. I wanna say Saginaw, but I'm not sure. Just in case you wanted a place to crash/visit, if it's not near where you're already staying.
Way to roll! Hope you get healthy. Find bike parts. Eat. Play. Rest. Play. Can hardly wait to see you Saturday! Still envious of everything except the pain and rash.
