Just a brief update... Thanks to Erica for the title.
We rode one more painful day then decided to take a day off so I could rest and get some food in me. It had basically been three straight days of queasy nausea while riding, so we stayed in an admittedly kinda cute log cabin at Abe Lincoln's birthplace and ate and soaked in the a/c. Woke up feeling great and decided to take a side trip to mammoth cave, which is awesome! Didn't feel totally back to normal, but i'm getting better and managing to have some fun again. We took a short tour of the cave and decided to stick around another day and do a really cool more in depth one tomorrow. Another day off from riding, but hopefully back to normal for hitting the 1000 mile mark on Saturday!
Thanks for the kind words and support! Fortunately not too many good dog stories Brittany... Did have one bite my pannier right at the top of a very long end of the day hill. No harm done though. The sickness did unfortunately ruin berea for us... Spent the whole time in the hotel.
Also, totally addicted to 7-up and assorted other sodas already. Bike touring changes you, man.

ReplyDeleteBeen hoping you're on the mend. Your dad is here for Kyle's party--it went great, but we miss you and Stephen (and your mom, of course). Still wishing Michigan was on your itinerary, but...soon. Don't forget to let me know where you end up. Kisses to both of you!
ReplyDeleteHi from Gramma D. Glad you're feeling better and got to see Mammoth Caves. Safe travels!
