You're near a feed lot...what makes for that "great" Kansas beef. From "The Grand Entry" by Gary Snyder..."the flag's like a steak: cowboys/are solar energy-/grass-to-protein/conversion-magic priests!/Hamburger offerings all over America/Red, white,/and Blue".
Yeah we rode right by it. It was massive. And all the locals were talking about was how a bunch if cows had just died and it must have "been because of the heat". They were even talking about killing the rest of them early so they could have some hamburgers. But the real question is why did they build the feedlot upwind from the town?
is that the place with the weird park and duck pond full of really aggressive ducks? Also, watch out for Ordway, CO if you aren't crazy about poo smell. Seriously its awful. Ride another ten miles up to Crowley.
I had to look that one up to find out it is a town in Kansas and not something you guys were cooking for dinner:-)
