We hit 3000 miles early this morning! It looks like we have a little more than 1500 to go. Early this morning we also got rattled at by (can you guess??) a rattle snake! It is truly amazing how distinctive that sound is. We wonder if we had not seen them on television if it still would have registered the same reaction. That reaction was, by the way, to turn around and go back and look. Stephen got a better view as I was too cautious to actually stop and put a foot on the ground. He was pretty big around but didn't have a huge head. No need to fear though! He went back into his hole without attacking us. I spent the rest of the morning watching the side of the road for snakes. This is the third live snake we have seen while riding.
We took a half day to Lander today as there is not much between here and Dubois. We had pretty good thai food, vegan ice cream, may have gotten it set up to get a new pad in Jackson, had good coffee (beans from stumptown, we must be getting close!), and we will try some local beer this evening. Unfortunately the library closed at two today, so no photos until Jackson.
