Oregon and the 4000th Mile

We crossed the line into Oregon this afternoon, not long after breaking into the 4000s. Very exciting!

  1. 4000 miles - WOW!! Hope you really enjoy eastern Oregon, and that you have perfect weather. I can hardly wait to see more blogs as you work your way across. Especially when you spy the Cascades.

  2. Wow! I had a dream about you guys the other day. You decided to take a couple days off from riding so you flew back to Blacksburg and worked at Gillie's or Bolo's (I don't know how to spell these) for two days. I worked there as the manager, like your friend Christina wanted me to. I had to keep telling you what to do because you hadn't worked in months. It was weird.

P.S. How does Oct 2nd sound to you?

  3. Erica & Stephen,
    Prayer for a Tenspeed Heart

Let the fire of my body
    propel and warm me
    and let each darkness
    reveal its plenitude.

    Let the hills
    flatten under my wheels
    and let the eloquent curves
    yield up their good surprise.

    Let my heart be obstinate
    when I need to climb
    and let my lowliest gears
    restrain my spinning down.

    Let there be flatland, too,
    and into that glittering place
let me stretch with the heart of a lover,
at full speed, blind and intent.

Your card arrived bring your spirits and smiles to my day.
May the peace of the evening's ending be with you always.
